Pupils from George Spicer and Kingsmead Schools receive their certificates of achievement from Feryal Clark MP

It was an exciting morning on Tuesday 24/5 at Bush Hill Park as pupils from George Spicer and Kingsmead Schools received their certificates of achievement from Feryal Clark MP.  The certificates were awarded for their work on the design of the wildlife information boards and the beautiful artwork they produced.

After the group photos everyone went to the Wildlife Garden to have a look at the new sensory garden we are in the process of creating, drawing on imaginative ideas from pupils of George Spicer Primary Schol. So far it contains a stumpery, rocks and ferns, scented climbing plants, culinary herbs and tactile grasses. The next stage will include the installation of decorative stone chippings, bamboo canes, wind chimes, sun catchers and tactile pathways.

Each pupil was given a trail map, showing where the wildlife information boards are situated.  There was also some time to look out for wildlife in the garden, including a friendly snail!  They also had a go with the pebbles which will come out on special occasions which can be used to play a game of noughts and crosses.
