Living Willow Dome built in the wildlife garden

Back in December 2018, a living willow dome was planted and built in the wildlife garden. Now we get to watch it grow and develop.

We were blessed with a mild and sunny day in December when a group of volunteers, including Carole and Caroline, wildlife garden regular volunteers, local residents, families and councillors, came together to build the Willow Dome, which is now happily settling into the wildlife garden. The day was great fun as well as challenging, not least in communication between those who like to read instructions and those who don’t…

It was fantastic to see the fruits of our labours by the end of the day, and one of the real highlights was watching young and old(er) people who love this park work together to produce something beautiful to be enjoyed by all who use our park. Updates on the dome’s growth will follow, but please do go and visit if you haven’t already.
